The China Competence Center offers you a variety of mobility programs including consulting services (e.g. visa procedures) to China, whether you are a student, doctoral candidate, employee or professor at TU Darmstadt.

Current programs

Summer School with scholarship in Chengdu, China

Scholarships from the China Scholarship Council for exchange semesters in China

Target group: Bachelor's and Master's students


An exchange semester with a full scholarship can be spent at partner universities, e.g. Sichuan University, Chengdu University, Southwest Petroleum University, Northeast Petroleum University, Beihang University, Kunming University of Science and Technology. It can be used as an exchange semester in the form of a social study, seminar participation, internship or work on a Bachelor's/project/Master's thesis at Chinese partner universities. Target group: Bachelor's and Master's students


A 3-week summer school with a partial scholarship can be spent at partner universities, e.g. Sichuan University, Chengdu University, Southwest Petroleum University in Chengdu. It consists of both technical and cultural modules. A selection procedure will be published soon.

Target group: Doctoral students


Doctoral students can acquire Chinese competence by carrying out research projects with joint Chinese-German supervision. During the joint research, they can use Chinese equipment for their studies and at the same time gain comprehensive impressions of everyday life in China.

Target group: Doctoral students, employees and professors


These target groups are offered the opportunity to participate in meetings and conferences of the Chinese partner universities (e.g. Chinese-German Energy Conference) or in events organized by the Association of Chinese Alumni of the TUC in China (VCAC) at the partner universities. These targeted short stays serve to develop and prepare joint projects, which are then funded by other Chinese or European research programs as soon as they are sufficiently elaborated in terms of content.

"University Immersion Program" at Sichuan University with partial scholarship


Since 2012, the University Immersion Program has been an annual two-week summer program in July that brings together professors and students from all over the world for academic study and research.
