Delegation from the Education Department of the Chinese Embassy in Berlin visited TU Clausthal

On November 6, 2022, a delegation from the Department of Education of the Chinese Embassy in Berlin, including Envoy Counsellor HUANG Wei, visited Clausthal University of Technology. They were received by Prof. Dr. Daniel Goldmann, Vice President for Research, Transfer and Transformation, Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Busch, China Representative of the Presidential Board and Prof. Dr. Michael Zhengmeng Hou, Head of the China Competence Center.

Prof. Dr. Hou, initiator of China Week, had invited Mr. HUANG to China Week, for which Mr. HUANG expressed his sincere thanks. He was very pleased to speak about the work of the Department of Education and the Chinese government's scholarship program at the Student Day. Although Clausthal University of Technology and China have been linked by decades of cooperation, personal exchange in particular has suffered during the coronavirus pandemic. However, especially in these challenging times in a complex and changing international context, cohesion and cooperation have become very important. As China has relaxed the entry requirements for German students again in August 2022, Mr. HUANG was very pleased to announce that Clausthal University of Technology will be added to the list of 14 partner institutions to date and will be able to offer two study places per year.

Prof. Goldman was very grateful for the scholarship places offered by the embassy and welcomed the delegation to the university. He said that China has always been one of TU Clausthal's most important partners and that TU and Chinese universities have always maintained close cooperation in talent training and scientific research.

Afterwards, both sides exchanged gifts and ended the evening with a dinner together.
