Delegation from Chengdu University visits TU Clausthal

On November 20, 2023, a 4-member delegation from Chengdu University (CDU) in Sichuan Province visited Clausthal University of Technology (TUC). The delegation was led by the President, Prof. Dr. Wang, who was accompanied by the Dean of the Faculty of Architecture and Civil Engineering, the Dean of Sterling College and the Head of International Cooperation and Exchange. First, the 24 CDU students currently enrolled at the TUC were welcomed by President Prof. Dr. Wang.

A short tour of the ITE was followed by a discussion with Prof. Dr. Michael Z. Hou, China Representative and Head of the China Competence Centre at the TUC, Prof. Dr. Thomas Hanschke, Commissioner of the Lower Saxony Ministry of Science and Culture for University Cooperation between Lower Saxony and China, and Dr. Lara M. Gottfried and Dr. Hong Liu-Kiel, Managing Directors of the China Competence Centre. In his welcoming address, Prof. Dr. Hanschke recalled his last visit to the CDU in 2016, which remained an "impressive memory" for him. In return, Prof. Dr. Wang emphasized how important it was to him to extend the cooperation agreement for the 1+2 Master's programme, which has been in place since 2017, in order to continue working together at the same high level. The President, Dr. Sylvia Schattauer, who had been in office for less than three weeks at the time, also took the time for an initial meeting with the Chinese partners before the delegation traveled on to Frankfurt.
