Professor Hou Zhengmeng organized the donation of French oak trees to Deng Xiaoping's hometown

On April 1, Hou Zhengmeng, professor at Clausthal University of Technology in Germany and academician of the Academy of Geosciences and Geotechnical Engineering, was invited to Guang'an for an inspection by the Guang'an Return of the Overseas Chinese Association of the Communist Party of China. He also visited the exhibition hall of the former residence of Deng Xiaoping, the bronze statue square of Deng Xiaoping and the former residence of Deng Xiaoping.
During the inspection, Hu Qiang, Chairman of Guang'an Federation of Overseas Chinese, had an in-depth exchange with Professor Hou Zhengmeng on the spirit of the municipal party committee's instructions and the activities to commemorate the 120th anniversary of Deng Xiaoping's birth. The two parties immediately reached a donation intention. Professor Hou Zhengmeng said he would organize the Association of Chinese and foreign Chinese professors in France and Germany to donate twice the amount of French oak trees to Deng Xiaoping's hometown Bronze Statue Square and the Xiaoping Cadre Institute to express his deep memory of Deng Xiaoping and commemorate Deng Xiaoping's great achievements.
In the end, through friendly exchanges, the two sides agreed to further strengthen their relations and cooperation to promote the development of Guang'an.

The former residence of Deng Xiaoping, also known as "Deng's old courtyard", is located in Paifang Village, Xiexing Town, Guang'an County, Guang'an City, Sichuan Province. It is the ancestral home of Deng Xiaoping, the leader of the Chinese party and state. The former residence fully demonstrates Deng Xiaoping's activities in his youth and was the first group of research and practice training bases for national primary and secondary school students. It was listed as the fifth batch of national key cultural relics protection units on June 25, 2001.
