Participation of the China Competence Center in the fourth Clausthal-Zellerfeld City Festival

Clausthal-Zellerfeld. The China Competence Center of Clausthal University of Technology took part in the fourth Clausthal-Zellerfeld City Festival on 9 and 10 June 2018. Several hundred visitors, young and old, came up the "Roe" and experienced Chinese culture at the China Competence Center's stand in front of the main TU building.

Four activities were held simultaneously every day from 11:00 to 18:00:

  1. Peking Opera Mask Painting: the masks of seven famous Peking Opera characters could be painted. This activity particularly appealed to children, but many older visitors also tried it.
  2. Own handmade Chinese knots: Chinese knot is a decorative craft which usually means "good luck".
  3. Chinese tea ceremony: Chinese tea culture is an important part of Chinese culture. Green tea and jasmine tea were offered for free to every visitor.
  4. The art of calligraphy: Calligraphy is considered a highly respected artistic form of Chinese culture. The names of the visitors were written in Chinese.

In addition, books and videos about Chinese culture were displayed. Visitors showed great interest in Chinese culture. Through well-designed activities, there were many interactions and cultural exchanges with visitors.
