Welcome event for the program students of Sichuan University
On July 19, the welcome event was held at the Institute of Electrical Information Technology at Clausthal University of Technology to welcome the arrival of the second cohort of program students from Sichuan University in Germany. This event provided the students with important information and guidance for their studies and life in Germany.
Professor Rembe from the Institute of Electrical Information Technology first gave a welcoming speech. He introduced the new students to the institute and gave a brief introduction to the internships and final theses in Germany. Professor Rembe encouraged the students to actively research and make continuous progress in their future studies.
Afterwards, Professor Hou Zhengmeng, the head of the China Competence Center, also gave a welcoming speech. He emphasized that the first step of studying abroad is to move from traditional thinking to international thinking. It is more important to master learning methods than just to accumulate knowledge. He encouraged students not only to learn specialized knowledge during their studies in Germany, but also to strengthen their problem-solving skills.
Pan Qinling, student assistant, then gave a detailed introduction to living and studying in Germany. She offered practical advice and recommendations on topics such as registering at the city hall, opening a bank account, waste separation, health insurance, language courses and visa renewal. The interactive exchange gave the students a broader and deeper insight into living and studying in Germany.
After the event, the students actively asked questions, which were answered patiently and in detail.
